I believe that everyone has the ability to heal and grow. If we decide to work together, I will support you with whatever you need to bring to therapy, at your own pace.
.
My intention is to provide a safe, non-judgemental and welcoming space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences with a compassionate and supportive listener.
Perhaps there are patterns you repeat that you would like to look at together, or maybe you would like to understand yourself and your relationships better.
I offer a place to wonder and explore, be curious and notice.
My hope is that we can help you to discover your own inner strength and resilience.
Contact me today to see if we could work together.
Contact me at lauramstoreytherapy@icloud.com to arrange an initial session.
After our contact by email, we will set up an initial meeting at my therapy room, which will be charged at my usual rate, but you are are under no obligation to commit to further sessions. At this meeting, you can share your hopes for therapy, ask any questions and I will share my terms of service, so that you are aware of the agreement I ask of clients before we begin the work.
If you decide we are a good fit and that you would like to work with me, we will meet weekly at my therapy room. My fee is £25 per 50 minute session. I currently only offer in-person therapy. Psychotherapy tends to be open ended, so we would discuss when your ending might be together; usually, there will not be a set number of sessions.
According to the UKCP, Psychotherapy can be a powerful, life-changing experience which can help you improve your mental health, overcome social or emotional challenges and fulfil your potential. A psychotherapist can support you to:
I am currently in my second year of training at BCPC (Bath Centre of Psychotherapy and Counselling), on the MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy course.
Prior to this, I completed the Foundation Certificate at BCPC.
I am a member of UKCP (the UK Council for Psychotherapy), which means I am required to follow their code of ethics, which includes strict guidelines around confidentiality.
In order to ensure I practice ethically and hold my clients with compassion and care, I meet with an experienced, UKCP registered psychotherapist on a regular basis.
This helps to ensure I hold boundaries to keep us both safe in the work as well as gain knowledge and skills.
I have worked as a volunteer bereavement counsellor at The Harbour in Bristol, so have some experience in being with people who have lost someone dear to them, and all the feelings this can bring up.
