I believe that everyone has the ability to heal and grow. If we decide to work together, I will support you with whatever you need to bring to therapy, at your own pace. My intention is to provide a safe, non-judgemental, and welcoming space, where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a compassionate and supportive listener. Perhaps there are patterns you repeat that you would like to look at together, or maybe you would like to understand yourself and your relationships better. I offer a place to wonder and explore, be curious and notice. My hope is that we can help you to discover your own inner strength and resilience. Contact me today to see if we could work together.

Contact me at lauramstoreytherapy@icloud.com to arrange an initial session for affordable psychotherapy or to learn more about individual therapy sessions. If you feel it would be beneficial, I also offer a free 15 minute phone call.
After our contact by email, or after our phone conversation, we will set up an initial meeting at my therapy room, which will be charged at my usual rate. You are under no obligation to commit to further sessions. During this meeting, you can share your hopes for therapy, ask any questions, and I will outline my terms of service.
If we decide we are a good fit and would like to work together, we will meet weekly at my therapy room on Park Street in central Bristol. My fee for these sessions is £25 per 50-minute session. I currently only offer in-person therapy. Individual therapy sessions tend to be open-ended, so we will discuss together when your ending might be; usually, there will not be a set number of sessions.
According to the UKCP, affordable psychotherapy can be a powerful, life-changing experience that helps you improve your mental health, overcome social or emotional challenges, and fulfill your potential. A psychotherapist can support you by: expressing your feelings and processing them in a safe and supportive relationship, gaining deeper insight into the issues you face, discussing matters in a confidential environment that you might not feel able to share with anyone else, finding better ways to cope with feelings and fears, changing the way you think and behave to enhance your mental and emotional wellbeing, improving relationships in your life, including with yourself, healing from trauma, and learning to communicate better and tolerate differences in yourself and others. Individual therapy sessions can be an essential step toward achieving these goals.

I am in my second year at BCPC (Bath Centre of Psychotherapy & Counselling), enrolled in the MA in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy course. Before this, I completed the Foundation Certificate at BCPC. I am also a trainee member of UKCP (the UK Council for Psychotherapy), which requires me to adhere to their code of ethics, including strict guidelines around confidentiality.

To ensure I practice ethically and provide affordable psychotherapy with compassion and care, I regularly meet with an experienced, UKCP registered psychotherapist. This collaboration not only helps me maintain boundaries to keep us both safe during our individual therapy sessions but also enhances my knowledge and skills.

I have worked as a volunteer bereavement counsellor at The Harbour in Bristol, gaining experience in supporting individuals with their experiences of loss.
This role has deepened my understanding of the emotions that arise in these situations..
